Public Meetings
The Board of Education wishes to invite the public and its partners to participate in its regularly scheduled meetings for the 2023-24 school year.
The 2023-24 Regular (Public) Board of Education Meetings get underway at 5:00 p.m. and are hosted in person at various locations around the school district. Meetings are also available virtually on Zoom or via the school district’s YouTube channel.

- October 25, 2023 – Board of Education Office, Terrace
- November 21, 2023 – Board of Education Office, Terrace
- December 13, 2023 – Board of Education Office, Terrace
- January 31, 2024 – Board of Education Office, Terrace
- February 21, 2024 – Kildala Elementary School, Kitimat
- February 27, 2024 - Board of Education Office, Terrace (Special Regular Meeting)
- April 24, 2024 – Hazelton Secondary School
- May 22, 2024 – Bear Valley School, Stewart
- June 19, 2024 – Board of Education Office, Terrace
- June 26, 2024 – Board of Education Office, Terrace (if required)
Question Period
At the end of each Regular Board Meeting, there is a 10-minute question period for the public. Questions must pertain to the agenda and can be presented in person at the Regular Board Meeting or emailed no later than 4:00 p.m. on the day of the Regular Board Meeting to the attention of Carole Gagnon, Executive Assistant at carole.gagnon@cmsd.bc.ca.
Questions or comments about personal issues, individuals or property acquisitions are not appropriate for public meetings. A written response to questions to the Board will be provided as soon as practicable. Questions asked at the Regular Board Meeting are recorded for follow up by the Board in the event an answer is not provided during the Question Period.
Presentations
In accordance with the Board’s Delegation/Presentation Protocol, presentations to the Board require one week’s advance notice. Written documentation on the material to be presented to the Board is required no later than 4:00 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to the Regular Board Meeting. Presentations will be held to a maximum of 10 minutes. Kindly coordinate your presentation request to the Board through Carole Gagnon, Executive Assistant at (250) 638-4401 or at carole.gagnon@cmsd.bc.ca.
